Age Devision

  • Babies: Age 3 to 6
  • Kidz: Age 7 to 11
  • Juniors: Age 12 to 16
  • Adults: Age 17 and up
* It is assumed that 20% of the participants of the team may be of “borderline” age. That is, those who this year celebrates 1 year more than the age limit set by the rules of the championship: for the category Kidz – 12 years, for Juniors – 17 years.
** The category of teams with mixed participants is determined by older age. For example, if a team member is 8, 9, 16 years old, the team competes in the Juniors category.
Levels

* 20% of the participants of the team may be of “borderline” age. That is, those who this year gets 1 year older than the age limit set by the rules of the championship: for the category Kidz – 12 years, for Juniors – 17 years.

** The devision of teams with mixed participants is determined by older age. For example, if a team members are 8, 9, 16 years old, the team competes in the Juniors category.

Levels

Initially, the level of the team is determined by the captain. After registration submission, the commission confirms it. To do this, all teams must provide links to the video from the team’s rehearsal or last performances.

  • Beginner Level (Beg.) – beginner level, first steps in dancing :)
  • Mid Level – more confident dancers. Starting with the Mid Level, teams of the Adults category can compete in nominations in different styles: Hip Hop, Jazz Funk, Jazz / Contemporary, High Heels.
  • Pro Level – dance stars, professional dancers ;)

Dancers may participate in the team 1 level higher, but not vice versa. Thus, a member of Beginner Level team  can participate in Mid Level team. But member of Mid Level team cannot perform with Beginner Level team.

The teams that took the first 3 places at their level get the opportunity to compete with the teams of their category 1 level higher at the next event. For example, winners of Kidz Beginner Level go to Kidz Mid Level.

*** Best Dance Performance Solo / Duet – in addition to choreography and technique, the idea, costume will also be evaluated.

Registration

To participate in the championship, you must register before April 17 and provide links to the video of the team’s performance / rehearsal.

It is also necessary to attach at registration or send before April 18 – a list of participants of each speech.

Performance Music Requirements

Timing is strict, exceeding the limit in the nomination – 1 second = minus 0.1 points.

More than 1 minute – out of competition.

SOLO & DUETS

  • Best Dance Solo & Duo Performance Babies, Kidz & Juniors
  • up to 1:00 min. The track must be mixed!
  • Best Dance Solo & Duo Performance Adults – Beginner Level
  • up to 1:15 min. The track must be mixed!
  • Best Dance Solo & Duo Performance Adults – Mid & Pro Level
  • up to 1:30 min. The track must be mixed!

MINI CREWS

  • Best Dance Performance Babies, Kidz & Juniors Mini Crew
  • 3 – 6 people in the team up to 2:15 min.
  • Best Dance Performance Adults Mini Crew – Beginner & Mid Level
  • 3 – 6 people in the team up to 2:30 min.
  • Best Dance Performance Adults Mini Crew – Pro Level
  • 3 – 6 people in the team up to 3:30 min.

CREWS

  • Best Dance Performance Babies (All), Kidz & Juniors – Beginner Level
  • from 7 people in a team to 2:30 minutes, from 15 people to 3 minutes, from 25 people to 3:30 minutes.

Requirements for the music

The deadline for providing music is April 18!

  • Music is sent in mp3 format to email project818music@gmail.com
  • Email Title— RDC19 Music – Team Name, Category, Level, Nomination
  • Example: RDC19 Music – Dance Kings, Adults, Pro, Show
  • Music is sent only 1 time! It will be impossible to change music on the spot.
  • Exceeding the limit in the nomination – 1 second = minus 0.1 points.
  • Each track is handed in on the day of the event on a separate flash drive. There should be nothing more than 1 track on the flash drive! The flash drive can be picked up from the organizers at the end of the day or on the day of the master classes. After the master classes flash drives are recycled.
  • Keep a spare flash drive with you!
  • If a team participates in several nominations, then a separate USB flash drive is provided for each nomination.
  • The use of vulgar movements and gestures is prohibited.
  • It is forbidden to use water, candy, flour, talc, all that will complicate the performance of the next team. Threatened with complete disqualification.

Stage Check (no music)

from 3 people in a team – 40 seconds, from 7 people in a team – 1 min, from 20 people – 2 minutes, from 30 people – 5 minutes

Evaluation Criteria

  • 4 main evaluation criteria (for the Best Dance Show – 5).
  • One of the highest and lowest scores is not involved in the calculation.
  • Example “Staging” – the judges put 10, 8, 7, 3. 10 (highest) and 3 (lowest) are not counted. The remaining 8 + 7 = 15. The average score 7.5. Overall score for production 3.0. The total score of the entire performance, the closer to 10.00, the better.
